About Us

We grew up together-squabbling, quarreling and fighting. Now, fate decided to separate us when we just started getting along. And so, we find ourselves halfway around the world, Edric in Manila and Evan in Philadelphia- that’s around 8,500 miles! But we manage to share ideas and thoughts persistently thanks to our favorite search engine and its many wonders.(We mean Google) With technology around, we just live with a twelve hour difference- during Daylight Savings Time.

Occasionally, we find ourselves together again with the family, in Manila, Hong Kong, (hopefully) Tokyo, or even in America.

Here’s a little more about us:

Edric

I graduated in 2007 with a next-to-useless university degree.  Cheers to the Philippine education system! On another note, I was exposed to the internet revolution and its roots. I’ve gone through ICQ, mIRC, Napster, P2P, 56K, DSL, Cable, Athlon, and so much more. All that came alive after I got a chance to visit the Silicon Valley. With the internet, learning became an addiction. I’d read tons of articles about things which interest me. At present, I spend most of my time reading blogs, looking up random things, and trying to become a decent fashion photographer.

My day job has me tending livestock. PETA people might hate my guts but I have 90 million mouths to feed and they do like eating meat. I also concern myself with how to make eating meat and eggs a pleasant experience. I don’t use tasers on pigs, nor do I overcrowd chickens. I am concerned with the environment but if I become too extreme about it, I’d probably have to hike up a mountain and live there till my days are over. I believe in constant improvement, sustainability, a balanced life. I hope I don’t get stoned for that.

Lately, I’ve been trying to dress better. I still try even though I feel I’m going nowhere fast.

Evan

I’m a sophomore at Wharton in UPenn. Yeah, the ivy league school but I think a “typical” education and a degree arealways overrated. I’ve spent two birthdays away from family and I’ve traveled 28000 miles alone. I love traveling and I hope to spend a whole year going around the world. I’m a fan of being in transit for about 24 hours. I do it twice a year after all. I paint and I write. I’ve vandalized my room’s closets but I’ll get new ones soon! When I’m not making a mess, or looking for junk around the world, I like to cook myself, and maybe 29 other relatives a good meal. One day, I’ll have a cozy restaurant in Manila, and I hope that will be worth the visit.

I used to argue about problems in debate and I got pretty good at it. But now, I’m interested in social entrepreneurship or using business for good.
